
Trio of Lumberjacks Named to All-WAC Team

DENVER, Colo. -- The 2021-2022 All-WAC Men's Basketball teams have been named, following a vote of the league's 13 head coaches.
Stephen F. Austin's Jaylin Jackson-Posey is the WAC Sixth Man of the Year, Gavin Kensmil earned First-Team All-WAC honors and David Kachelries was voted Second-Team All-WAC.
Jackson-Posey averaged 8.8 points per game off the bench to help the Lumberjacks earn a share of the WAC regular season title. Jackson-Posey's most notable feat was converting a pair of free throws with less than two seconds remaining to lead the Jacks past Sam Houston.
Kensmil averaged a team-high 16.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. The Paramaribo, Suriname native shot 59 percent (169-for-282) from the field and scored 454 points and hauled in 190 rebounds, both of which are team-highs. Kensmil posted four double-doubles and recorded 25 steals.
Kachelries averaged 10 points per game and handed out a team-high 104 assists. The Emmaus, Pennsylvania native shot 42 percent (105-for-246) from the floor and scored 279 points.
The Jacks await the winner of ACU vs. Utah Valley/Chicago State, which is slated for Thursday, Match 10 at 10:30 p.m. CT and is available on ESPN +.
