NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Kassidy Wilbur tossed a complete-game shutout and Stephen F. Austin topped Lamar 4-0 in Western Athletic Conference action.
SFA improved to 11-16 and 4-2 in the WAC, while LU fell to 5-19 and 1-8 in conference competition.
Wilbur kept the Cardinals off balance throughout the contest and scattered four hits and allowed one walk while striking out eight.
Gaby Garcia put the Ladyjacks on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run.
SFA added a pair of runs in the third inning. Sydnee Hebert singled through the left side to score a run and Lexi Benson's sacrifice fly extended the led to 3-0.
Hebert added a solo home run in the fifth inning.
Camryn Middlebrook batted 1-for-3 and scored a run. Hebert finished 2-for-3 with two RBI.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday and host North Texas at 6:30 p.m.
