
Ticket Punched ! Ladyjacks Roll Past Lopes to Secure WAC Title

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Ticket punched!
No. 1 seed Stephen F. Austin defeated No. 2 seed Grand Canyon 74-57 and captured the 2021-22 WAC Tournament Championship.
The Ladyjacks utilized a balanced offensive attack to secure the win.
WAC Tournament MVP Zya Nugent dropped a game-high 20 points and grabbed 12 boards to record the double-double. Nugent also logged a game-high six assists.
Tasharian Robinson scored 19 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field. Robinson also drained a game-high five three pointers while recording a pair a of steals.
WAC All-Tournament Team performer Stephanie Visscher helped out with 15 points on 4-for-6 shooting from the field. Visscher also went 3-for-5 from beyond the arc and handed out five assists.
The Ladyjacks shot 57.1 percent (12-for-21) from three-point range and 53.5 percent (23-for-43) from the field.
SFA found success in front of the basket with 30 rebounds and 22 points in the paint.

The Ladyjacks turn their attention to NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Selection Show and await their first-round opponent. Watch Party will be Sunday at Buffalo Wild Wings in Nachodoches at 7 p.m. The public encouraged to attend.
