Record Breaking Season Comes to Close at NCAA Tournament

TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 5 seed North Carolina defeated No. 12 seed Stephen F. Austin 79-66 in the first round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
The Ladyjacks conclude their season with a 28-5 record and winners of the WAC regular season and tournament championships.
Zya Nugent scored a game-high 26 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field. Nugent also hit five three-pointers and finished 7-for-9 at the free-throw line.
Aiyana Johnson added 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds and narrowly missed out on the double-double.
Avery Brittingham played for only 10 minutes, but made the most of it. Brittingham dropped nine points and hauled in 10 rebounds, to narrowly miss the double-double.
Stephanie Visscher helped out with nine points and hauled in four rebounds. Tasharian Robinson added eight points.
SFA scored 26 points in the paint and forced 16 turnovers, which was turned into 16 points.
