Kassidy Wilbur No-Hitter Lifts SFA Past Big 10 Foe Purdue

BATON ROUGE, La. – Stephen F. Austin opened the Purple & Gold Challenge behind Kassidy Wilbur's no-hitter and the Ladyjacks defeated Big 10 foe Purdue 2-0.
Wilbur was dealing and struck out 12 batters.
The Ladyjacks and Wilbur got all the protection needed when Shaylon Govan drilled a solo home run in the top of the first inning.
Mikaelah Burkland added an RBI in the top of the fifth inning.
Gaby Garcia batted 3-for-3 and scored a run.
Sydnee Hebert and Hope Lusk each collected a hit.

LSU defeats SFA 10-4
Tournament host LSU defeated SFA 10-4 in game two of the Purple & Gold Challenge.
Sydnee Hebert delivered a three-run home run in the top of the first inning.
Camryn Middlebrook was effective from the leadoff role and batted 2-for-3 and drew one walk and scored a run.
Sydney Carithers finished 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Dakotah Poole and Madison Nguyen each added a hit.
Up next: Saturday doubleheader versus Purdue (10 a.m.) and Drake (12:30 p.m.)
