Pagan and Ortiz Named WAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week

DENVER, Colo.- Stephen F. Austin middle blocker Izabella Ortiz was named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week and outside hitter Ariana Pagan was named the WAC Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Ortiz is a freshman from Flower Mound, Texas. She recorded 14 kills, five digs, a .476 hitting percentage, and nine blocks (two solo) this past week against Grand Canyon and California Baptist. Her stat line was stellar against CBU as she recorded eight kills, hit .667, three digs, and five total blocks.
Pagan is a senior from Isabela, Puerto Rico. Pagan currently has a nine-game streak of double digit kills. She tied her season high against Grand Canyon and California Baptist with 15 kills. She also recorded her seventh and eighth double-doubles of the season this past week with 11 digs against GCU and 12 against CBU, and had a .421 hitting percentage.
