TULSA, OK -- The SFA Volleyball team rallied from a one-set deficit to take the second set of Saturday's match against the Razorbacks of Arkansas, but the Razorbacks eked out narrow victories in sets three and four to edge out the Ladyjacks in the final match of the Tulsa Invitational, 3-1. SFA moves to 5-3 overall on the season with the result.
SET ONE
SFA and Arkansas opened up the first set of play in tight fashion, as neither team opened up a substantial lead until Arkansas used a 5-0 run to open up a 14-7 lead. After an Ariana Pagan kill temporarily stalled that run, the Razorbacks ran off four more points in a row to extend the lead to 18-8. The 'Jacks would chip away at the Hogs' lead, pulling within six points on another Pagan kill to make it 23-17, before Arkansas ran off two more pulls to take the opening frame.
SET TWO
SFA would jump out to a 2-0 lead to open the second set, only to watch the Razorbacks rattle off eight straight points to seize an 8-2 lead. The 'Jacks responded with a 4-1 run to trim the lead to 9-6, capped off by a kill from Pagan. Arkansas slowly extended the lead over the next few minutes, taking an 18-12 lead. The 'Jacks fought back, getting kills from Ielan Bradley, Kennedy Wright and Ashley Procious to trim the lead down to 22-20. SFA kept the pressure up, rattling off four straight kills, two apiece from Wright and Cerny to close out the set 25-23 in come-from-behind fashion.
SET THREE
After two early points from SFA in the third set, Arkansas would take a 4-3 lead on an SFA attack error and did not yield the lead the rest of the way. The Hogs would build the lead out to as much as six points on the way to a 25-21 victory in the set.
SET FOUR
The fourth set featured a more contentious and hard-fought opening half, as the 'Jacks tied the set multiple times and kept within three points until halfway through the set, when the Razorbacks extended out a 15-11 lead. Back to back kills from Wright and Pagan helped SFA cut the lead down to 20-18 briefly, and SFA closed to 24-23 on consecutive points from Pagan and Kodi Garcia, but a Razorback kill sealed the match with a 25-23 victory in the fourth set.

• Kodi Garcia posted a team-high 23 assists, while Maddy Borque totaled 13.
