
SFA Track and Field Sits Third After Opening Day of Southland Conference Outdoor Championships

HUMBLE, Texas -- The SFA Track and Field team sits in third place on both the men's and women's leaderboard after one day of competition at the 2021 Southland Conference Outdoor Championships in Humble, Texas.The Ladyjacks accrued 32 points on the opening day and sit close behind Northwestern State (34) for second place. McNeese leads the women's field with 48 points. On the men's side, SFA sits in third with 16 points, close behind Sloutheastern Louisiana (18) for second place and McNeese (21) in the top spot.
Trenton Bridges was a gold medalist for the Lumberjacks in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 63.93m (209-09) to secure ten points for SFA. Event scorers for SFA on the opening day of competition were as follows:
