
Jessica Grayson Named Ladyjack Basketball Assistant Head Coach

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The SFA Ladyjacks announced Jessica Grayson as its new Assistant Head Coach this week, per Head Coach Mark Kellogg. Grayson has made a remarkable influence on the process of developing the past and current student-athletes within Kellogg's programs.
"Coach Grayson has definitely earned this opportunity to be the Assistant Head Coach," said Head Coach Mark Kellogg. "She is a fantastic person with great energy and passion for Ladyjack basketball. She puts her whole heart into developing our student-athletes both on and off the court. She will continue to help in every facet of the program with an emphasis on the offensive side of the ball. I am thrilled to continue building this program with Coach Grayson."
In the fifth year Grayson has been on staff, she has helped lead the Ladyjacks to a 122-31 overall record and 76-12 Southland Conference record, including five 23+ win seasons. The program has reached four postseason appearances including a trip to the NCAA Tournament, Two WNIT appearance and One WBI appearance.
Grayson has also played a significant role in the development of 14 All-Southland Conference performers and one Player of the Year, one Newcomer of the Year, one Southland Conference Tournament MVP, and one Southland Conference Academic Player of the Year.
In the recent historic 2020-21 season, Grayson helped guide the Ladyjacks to a No. 30 NCAA NET Ranking, reaching No. 17 during the midst of the regular season, in addition to receiving votes in the AP Top 25 for the first time since 1998.
The offensive and defensive philosophies exceeded expectations in 2020-21, where the Ladyjacks led NCAA Division I in total steals and turnovers forced. SFA finished the regular season 24-3, 14-0 SLC, notably in the top five in field goal percentage, scoring defense and turnover margin, ranking in the top 10 in total assists and assists per game in NCAA Division I. The Ladyjacks ended the season with a No. 8 ranking in the College Sports Madness Mid Major Poll as well.
