CONWAY, Arkansas -- The Lumberjacks (12-21, 9-12 SLC) are currently in Conway for a four-game league series with the Central Arkansas Bears (12-20, 7-14 SLC), falling to the home team in the series opener in walk-off fashion, 10-9. Both teams were coming off conference sweeps, but the Bears were able to get back into the win column after climbing back from a 6-9 deficit in the ninth inning to complete the comeback.

The Bears smacked two hits in the bottom of the first, with Mendolia's base hit to center field (E6) clearing one UCA baserunner to kick off the game, 1-0. The 'Jacks were able to match it in the top of the second, with Chaney Dodge (1B, RF) bringing in Sean Moore (1B, 5) for the game-tying run at this point in the outing.

Two back-to-back homers (Skylar Black and Jordan Monacy) allowed SFA to take a 3-1 lead after the top of the third.

UCA converted on three hits for three runs (Emmet 1B, MI), (Mendolia 1B, RS), (Daniell 2B, LL, 2RBI ), with a walk at Sturgeon's at-bat signaling Mendolia through for the fourth run for the Bears. After three complete, the Bears had a 4-3 advantage.

The top of the fifth was significant for the 'Jacks, gaining four runs on five hits (Cullen 1B, MI), (Black 1B, LS), (Monacy 1B, MI, RBI), (Moore 1B, CF), (Loranger 2B, LF, 2RBI), with Black scoring on a wild pitch as well to take a 7-4 lead, holding the Bears scoreless in the fifth.

In the top of the sixth, Black created offense once again (2B, LF, RBI) to score Kyle Cullen (BB) to tally the eighth run of the game for the 'Jacks. SFA brought home the ninth run shortly after, with Black finding home as Moore found base on an error by the shortstop to conclude the sixth (SFA, 9-4).

Neither team scored a run until the ninth inning, but the Bears tied the ballgame up with three consecutive base hits, a groundout RBI and a 2 RBI base hit to knot the game up at 9-9.

The 'Jacks left two on base in the tenth, only reaching base on two walks (Loranger and Cerny) to open up the tenth inning. But in the Bears half of the tenth, Johnson singled to short for the game-winning RBI to score Potvin (2B, LC).
