HUNTSVILLE, Texas --
The Lumberjack men's golf team competed on Monday and Tuesday at the Bearkat Invitational at Sam Houston, competing against seven Southland Conference opponents at the event in Sam Houston, Abilene Christian, Southeastern Louisiana, McNeese, Incarnate Word, New Orleans and Nicholls. SFA (290-311-302-903, +39) took 9th place out of 15 teams, as Sam Houston was the top Southland Conference team finisher at 2nd place. UT Arlington was the overall tournament winner (288-285-278-851, -13).
Steven Fabik was the top finisher for the 'Jacks tying for 25th place (79-78-75-223, +7), as the next Lumberjack Isiah Henderson tied for 39th (73-76-78-227, +11). Jaxon Griffith (T-52, 76-78-77-231, +15), Alec Brown (T-58, 82-77-74-233, +17) and Jacob Garcia (76-80-84-240, +24) rounded out the 'Jacks.
The Southland Conference Championship is slated next for SFA, taking place on April 26-28th in McKinney, Texas.
