
'Jacks Finish Eighth at SLC Championships

KERRVILLE, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Men's Golf Team placed eighth out of 11 schools this weekend at the Southland Conference Championships in Kerrville, Texas. Eyan Edsall was the low man for the Lumberjacks this weekend, shooting +5 through the three rounds.
The Lumberjacks were consistent across the board in round one, as Edsall led the way with a 74 (+2). Cameron Hubbard and Sam Gargis shot 75 (+3) and 76 (+3), respectively, while Zachary Robertson and Matthew Hewitt shot 78 (+6) and 79 (+7).
In the second round, it was Hewitt who led the Lumberjacks, shooting a 72 (E) while notching three birdies on the scorecard. Gargis was right behind, shooting a 73 (+1). Hubbard and Edsall shot a respectable 74 (+2) and 75 (+3), while Robertson shot an 80 (+8). After two rounds, SFA was sitting in eighth place.
To wrap things up in the third round, Hewitt and Edsall both had outstanding rounds. Hewitt got in the red numbers for the first time at the tournament, shooting 71 (-1). Edsall shot a 72 (E) as the Lumberjacks continued posting solid scores. Hubbard shot a 74 (+2), while Gargis and Robertson rounded out the group, shooting 77 (+5) and 78 (+6), respectively.
The Lumberjacks finished the three rounds at +27, good enough for eighth place, to wrap up their 2025 season.
