Coco Gillett Tabbed Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week

FRISCO, Texas -- Freshman outside hitter Coco Gillett was named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday morning. Gillett was a critical factor on the offensive end in SFA's two conference wins against UCA and NSU last week, where she helped her squad clinch a spot in the Southland Conference tournament for the 33rd time in school history.
Gillett impressively slammed home 31 kills on 61 attempts (.428), only committing five errors between seven sets. Gillett set a career-high in kills with 20 in a matchup with UCA last Friday, adding 11 digs to finish with a double-double in the contest. She continued her offensive rhythm into the weekend, and tabbed 11 kills against NSU two days later. Gillett was also able to add three assists, one block and one service ace in her breakout weekend.
The Ladyjacks (21-5, 9-1) will wrap up the regular season this week at Sam Houston on Thursday, and Senior Day on Saturday against Houston Baptist. For results and a complete schedule for all SFA Athletics, visit sfajacks.com.
