
Johnson and Kensmil Named to NABC Division I All-District Teams

KANSAS CITY, MO. -- Cameron Johnson and Gavin Kensmil of the SFA men's basketball team have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District Teams for the 2020-21 season, per a national release on Tuesday morning. Johnson was a First Team selection while Kensmil brought home Second Team honors. The pair led SFA to a 16-5 record overall and a 12-3 mark in Southland Conference play this season, and both earned Southland All-Conference honors as a result.
Johnson, a Little Rock, Arkansas native, led SFA for most of the season in scoring, ranking within the top five in the SLC in points per game for most of the campaign as well. Johnson ended the season with a 15.3 points per game average to go along with 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He was extraordinarily efficient as a scorer, converting on 53.2 percent of his field goal attempts and 35 percent of his three-point tries. He notched 14 double-digit games, with seven of those going for 20+ points.
Kensmil was a dominant force down low for SFA, helping the Lumberjacks bully their opponents in the paint on a nightly basis. Kensmil averaging 15.9 points on the season to go along with 7.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals. His 63.2 percent field goal clip ranked sixth in Division I, and he compiled four double-doubles on the season.
