DENVER, Colorado --
Standout freshman Valeria Rosado (Fr., OH) slated a spot on the All-WAC Freshman Team on Wednesday afternoon, the league announced. Rosado was a force all season, as she was able to set the tone right away offensively in conference play.
"Val is making her presence felt during her freshman season and keeps improving every week," said Coach Humphreys. "She is quickly becoming an OH that opponents will game plan against."
Rosado generated a team-leading 142 kills (3.09 K/S) and 166.0 points (3.61 PTS/S) with season-highs of 16 kills at Tarleton (11/4), 18.5 points versus Lamar (10/28), reaching 11+ kills in eight matches, accumulating double-digit kills in her last five regular season matches. Her most notable performance was at Lamar (10/16), where she squared away her first double-double (15 kills and 14 digs).
Defensively, Rosado delivered 20.0 blocks (18 BA and 2 BS) and 82 total digs, with double-digit digs outings at Sam Houston with 12 (10/8) and Lamar with 14 (10/16). She compiled 13 service aces this season, as well as 23.0 blocks this season with five of those taking place in the match where the Ladyjacks tied the NCAA Division I Single-Team Blocks record across four sets against UTRGV.
