NACOGDOCHES, Texas --
The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack basketball team will welcome Dannie Smith to the fold ahead of the 2022-23 season. Smith currently plays at New Mexico Junior College, where the 6'6" wing averages 13 points per game, six rebounds per game, three rebounds per game on the No. 8 team in the country. He is shooting 58 percent from the field for the Thunderbirds.
"We're excited to have Dannie joining our program," said Head Coach Kyle Keller. "He brings toughness, versatility and a winning background to the Piney Woods. He comes to us having played in great programs at both Orr and NMJC for two quality coaches which will help his transition to SFA."
The Chicago, Illinois native was a two-time Illinois State Champion at Orr High School. He contributed 16 points per game, seven rebounds per game and four assists per game during his high school career.
