Chris Campos Named TicketSmarter WAC Special Teams Player of the Week

DENVER, CO -- The Western Athletic Conference has named Chris Campos as the TicketSmarter Special Teams Player of the Week, according to a release from the league office on Monday morning. Camps, a freshman kicker from Nacogdoches, helped keep SFA in the game in a ranked bout with No. 24 Jacksonville State over the weekend, kicking a field goal and three extra points.

Campos went 1-2 on field-goal attempts in the close loss, with his only miss coming from 46 yards out. He nailed a 30-yard try late in the contest to put SFA on top 24-21, and was a perfect 3-3 on extra point tries in the game as well. For the season. Campos has accrued 59 points from the placekicker position, which leads the WAC and ranks 11th nationally. He is 12-15 on field goals this season, with all of his misses coming from 46+ yards, and has converted on 23-23 extra point attempts.
