
Ladyjacks Roll Past Northwestern State, 87-28

The Ladyjacks (13-2, 5-0 SLC) had its foot on the gas pedal the entire game as they rolled past the Northwestern State Demons Wednesday night to complete its three-game Southland Conference road stretch.
SFA jumped out to a 17-0 lead with 4:37 on the clock in the 1st quarter, holding the Demons to only two points in the first 10 minutes of play. The momentum shifted in the Ladyjacks's favor in every category on the outing during every possession, shooting 54.4 percent overall from the field (31-57) including 13 three-pointers. The Demons were held to 14.5 percent shooting (8-55), going scoreless in the 3-point department.
The balance and depth for the Ladyjacks came to fruition once again, as Pilgrim's Player of the Game Stephanie Visscher led the way (18 points, four rebounds, two assists, four blocks), followed by Marissa Banfield (14 points, two assists, two steals), Alyssa Mayfield (11 points, six rebounds, three assists) and Aiyana Johnson (11 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four blocks).
The Ladyjacks garnered its fifth conference win of the season, also moving to No. 28 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 9 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25 Poll.
Coach Kellogg's squad will be back in action on Saturday, January 23rd for a showdown against the Lamar Cardinals. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. at William R. Johnson Coliseum.
