
Lumberjack Soccer Adds 12 Signees to Roster for 2021-22 Season

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Lumberjack soccer team rounded out a hearty class of 10 signees for National Signing Day on Wednesday, adding a variety of players from around the country. The class was the first introduced by skipper Tony Minatta, who guided the Lumberacks to a 2-1-2 mark this fall in SFA's non-conference fall slate.
Joining the Lumberjacks from Frisco, Texas is Makenzie Neeley, a 5-5 midfielder who finishes her prep career at Independence HS this spring and will join the Lumberjacks next season. Neeley is a three-year letterwinner and varsity starter for Independence, championing a pair of undefeated seasons and leading her team to deep playoff runs as a sophomore and junior. Neeley was a First Team All-District selection in 2018 and 2019 and a First Team honoree in 2019-20, helping her team capture consecutive district championships as well as a regional championship.
"Makenzie is a very creative midfielder with a high soccer IQ and feel for the game", said Minatta."She has great passing range and will get the ball to where it needs to be! I can't wait to see her in action next fall!
A 5-7 forward out of Plano, Texas, Alexa Pivnick has prepped at 6A Plano East HS and will join the Lumberjacks next fall after completing her senior season this spring. She earned Second Team All-District in 2019, and has played club soccer for Solar.
"Alexa is a very versatile player with a winning mentality", said Minatta. "This athlete knows how to overcome adversity and continue to fight for what she wants! I'm very excited to see her in a Lumberjack uniform."
Lydia Sattler is the lone goalkeeper in the 2021 class for the Lumberjacks. The 5-10 netminder hails from Morgan Hill, California, and focused on competitive club soccer due to attending a small private school with limited sports opportunities. Sattler played club for the Orchard Valley Toros Black Premier 1team, competing in a variety of tournaments around California. Sattler also played basketball for Oakwood.
Joining the Lumberjacks next fall after finishing her prep career at 6A Keller HS, Lucy Meadows is a 5-5 forward. She has tallied 18 career goals and eight assists through her three seasons of high school competition, and earned Second Team All-District in each of her three seasons as well. Meadows competes in club soccer with clubs Solar and Dallas Texans.
"Lucy is a versatile attacking player that can get you goals or assists", added Minatta. "She possesses tremendous drive and willingness to push through adversity. I am so excited to see her in action when she gets to Nac."
Lily Hargrove will join the Lumberjacks in the fall as a dynamic 5-5 forward who hails from Plano, Texas. A two-year letterwinner at Plano West HS, Hargrove was named to the First Team All-District as a junior, and has also played for Solar ECNL in 2018,2019, and 2020).
"Lily is a dynamic player who will bring talent and creativity to our roster", said Minatta. "She has good skills on the ball and will help us on the attack next fall."
A 5-8 forward out of Plano, Landry Krodel will finish her prep career at Plano East and then suit up for SFA in the fall season. A three-year varsity starter, she has led her team in goals in each of the three seasons, and was named District 9-6A Co-Forward and First Team All-District in 2020. She was also named her team's offensive MVP in 2019 and 2020.
"Landrey can flat out fly down the field and she loves to score goals" added Minatta. "She will run through a brick wall to make sure the ball hits the back of the net, and I can't wait to see her impact on the field next fall."
Adding to SFA's stable of forwards is Kamryn Jiles, a 5-7 scorer who will finish her final season at Heritage HS this spring. A three-year letterwinner, Jiles is a powerful player who has led her team in scoring in each of her three prep seasons and has also set some impressive numbers in the weight room as well. A 5A First Team All-District selection and team offensive MVP, Jiles set a personal best with five goals and two assists in one game while at Heritage.
"Kamryn is another driven athlete who is humble and hard working", said Minatta. " She is a versatile attacking player who can play back to goal or fly past you in a foot race. I'm excited to get to work with her next fall!"
An attacking midfieder by trade, Jayme Bailey brings versatility to the Lumberjacks out of Wylie East HS. The 5-4 native of Wylie, Texas tallied 26 goals and 10 assists in 2019-20 as a junior. Bailey earned First Team All-District honors as a sophomore and All-District MVP honors and All-State Midfielder honors as a junior.
"Jayme is a very versatile player who excels at being an attacking outside back", explained Minatta. "She defends hard then gets forward and can score or get an assist. We're thrilled to have her with us for next fall."
Joining SFA out of 6A Vista Ridge HS is Hailey Kloc, a 5-0 forward who has been primarily playing club soccer for the past few seasons. She has played with Lonestar Soccer Club for the past nine years in a variety of roles.
"Hailey is a powerful, technical, hard-running player", said Minatta. "She has a great motor and can play multiple positions on the field. We are excited to get to work with her next fall."
Joining SFA from Canada, Darci Faichnie will join older sister Dakota, a Ladyjack bowler, in Texas' oldest town next season. Having playing primarily center midfielder, Faichnie was a three-sport athlete at Nantyr Shores Secondary in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada, even spending some time on the boy's soccer team there in her junior season. The 5-2 Faichnie was named Female Athlete of the Year as a junior, and experienced numerous success with her club teams as well.
"Darci is a hard working athlete with a great mentality and drive to succeed", said Minatta. "We are very excited to welcome her to Nac next fall!"
Brianna Farias of Richardson HS is the Lumberjacks' next signee. A 5-2 midfielder, Farias is a two-sport athlete at 6A Richardson, having also run distance with the track and cross country programs there. She has accrued 17 goals and 13 assists across three varsity seasons, earning All-District selections in 2018 and 2019 and team MVP honors as a freshman and sophomore.
"Brianna has a drive unlike we have ever seen", said Minatta. "Her work ethic and commitment to improving is infectious and we can't wait to have her join our squad next fall."
SFA's final recruit of the 2021 class is Alexia Moreira, a 5-10 center midfielder who joins the Lumberjacks out of Tyler Junior College. She is a two-time All-District selection and an All-District MVP, and scored a pair of goals against Forney in the second round of the 2019 playoffs. She is a two-time All-Tournament selection for her club team FC Dallas ETX.
"Alexia brings experience and a national championship pedigree coming to us from Tyler Junior College. A natural leader and field general for one of the best JUCO programs in the country!"
