
Johnson Records Fourth Double-Double of Campaign in SLC Road Contest

NEW ORLEANS, LA -- The SFA women's basketball team fell to the New Orleans Privateers 53-50 on the road Saturday on Whitley Larry's buzzer-beating 3-pointer as time expired.
The defeat dropped SFA's overall record to 10-3 and conference record to 3-1.
The Ladyjacks had two players score in double figures, led by Stephanie Visscher, who had 13 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Aiyana Johnson added a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds and Riley Harvey added nine points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Johnson pulled down five offensive rebounds to pace the SFA offense that racked up second chance opportunities, grabbing 19 boards and turning them into 18 second chance points.
SFA forced 22 New Orleans turnovers while committing 20 themselves in Saturday's game. The Ladyjacks turned those takeaways into 15 points on the offensive end of the floor. Harvey's three steals led the way for SFA.

GAME SUMMARY
After jumping out to a 5-4 advantage, SFA went on a 10-0 run with 6:06 left in the first quarter, culminating in a bucket from Johnson, to increase its lead to 15-4. The Ladyjacks then lost some of that lead, but still entered the quarter break with an 18-11 advantage. SFA relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down three shots to account for nine of its 18 points.
The Ladyjacks couldn't maintain their lead in the second quarter and entered halftime trailing 28-22.
SFA came out of halftime on fire, going on a 9-0 run to grab a 31-28 lead with 5:32 to go in the third. Before the third period was over, the Ladyjacks added two points to that lead and entered the fourth quarter with a 40-35 edge. SFA played well near the basket, scoring 10 of its 18 points in the paint.
New Orleans then erased the SFA lead in the game's final quarter for a 53-50 comeback victory. SFA pulled down two offensive rebounds to score two second chance points out of 10 total in the period
