'Jacks Continue Preseason Camp with Saturday Morning Session

SFA's final day of helmets-only practice comes in cooler temps
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Cooler temperatures and some light rain greeted the SFA football team Saturday morning as the 'Jacks continued their 2019 preseason camp with practice number two on the practice fields behind the SFA athletics field house.

Head coach Colby Carthel and staff directed the 'Jacks through their second - and final - practice session in just helmets. Saturday's format was similar to day one of camp with the squad breaking into positional groups and getting some important technique work in before assembling for special teams situations.

The day culminated with SFA's first, second and third offensive groups running multiple plays at game speed. The 'Jacks' defense got their reps in, too, as it opposed SFA's offensive group. Each of the remaining 18 dates for the 'Jacks' preseason camp schedule can be found below and all sessions are open to the public.

2019 Season Opener
On the final day of August, the 'Jacks are set to hit the turf of McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas, as they take on Baylor in the 2019 season opener. SFA's showdown with the Bears will kick off at 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
