
Ladyjacks Go 3-1 at F.A.S.T Collegiate Invitational

SFA scores wins over Southeastern Louisiana and Houston Saturday
HOUSTON - In its first spring competition of 2019, the SFA volleyball team won three of the four matches it took part in at the F.A.S.T. Collegiate Invitational Saturday.
Playing against foes from the American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, the Southland Conference and the Sun Belt Conference, the Ladyjacks finished the weekend 3-1.
SFA started the day with a 2-0 win over Southland adversary Southeastern Louisiana, getting by the Lions 25-20 in the opening frame before cruising to the win with a 25-11 victory in the second set.
The Ladyjacks lone loss of the day came in their match against UTSA. Though SFA bounced back with a 25-23 win in set two after the Roadrunners claimed a 25-19 victory in the opening frame, UTSA finished its win with a 19-17 triumph in the third.
Playing just two sets against Louisiana, SFA raced out to a 1-0 lead with a 25-17 victory in the opening frame before finishing things off with a 25-21 triumph in set two.
In their final match of the day, the Ladyjacks scored a 25-17, 25-13 triumph over Houston who finished 17-16 and 4-14 in American Athletic Conference action in 2018.
In a little less than two weeks, SFA will return to action by heading north to SMU to take part in two matches. On Saturday, April 13, the Ladyjacks will tangle with Big 12 foe TCU at 12:30 p.m. at SMU before taking on the host Mustangs at 2:30 p.m. that same day.
