Ladyjacks' 2019 Spring Schedule Released

Defending Southland Conference champions set three competition dates through March and April
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The SFA volleyball team has announced its spring 2019 competition schedule. Led by Debbie Humphreys, who will begin her 32nd year at the helm of the program in 2019, the Ladyjacks are set to participate in three tournaments all within the state of Texas.
The Ladyjacks begin their spring schedule this Saturday in Houston as one of 13 participants in the F.A.S.T Collegiate Invitational. SFA is one of four Southland programs headed to Houston for Saturday's invitational and will be joined there along with Houston, LSU and Texas A&M among others. Ticket prices for the event have been set at $17 for adults and $14 for students and senior citizens.
On Saturday, April 13, SFA heads north to SMU to take on TCU at 12:30 p.m. and SMU at 2:30 p.m. Finally, on Saturday, April 27, SFA will host its own spring tournament at Shelton Gym. A more detailed schedule will be released once it has been finalized.
SFA is coming off a 2018 campaign that saw the Ladyjacks capture the program's 10th Southland Conference regular season title before punching its ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006 by hoisting the Southland Conference Tournament trophy in November.
In 2018, the Ladyjacks rolled to a 32-3 record which featured a perfect 16-0 showing in Southland Conference action. SFA won a program-record and nation-leading 29 consecutive matches heading into their first-round NCAA Tournament tilt at fifth-ranked Texas. Heading into the 2019 season, the Ladyjacks return the services of reigning Southland Conference Setter of the Year Ann Hollas, reigning All-Southland Conference First Team and 2018 Southland Conference Tournament MVP Danae Daron and 2018 All-Southland Conference Tournament choice Anyia Williams along with eight other letter winners from the 2018 club. Additionally, SFA will be bringing nine new players into the fold for 2019.
