SFA to Host Football Signing Day Party at the Fredonia Hotel Wednesday

Lumberjacks will celebrate football head coach Colby Carthel’s inaugural signing class Wednesday evening at the Fredonia Hotel
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – In less than 48 hours, the SFA football program will welcome new head coach Colby Carthel's inaugural signing class as Lumberjack newcomers will sign their National Letters of Intent (NLI) on Wednesday, Feb. 6 as part of National Signing Day 2019. The 2019 additions to the SFA football team will be celebrated with a signing day party, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fredonia Hotel in downtown Nacogdoches.
Coach Carthel will address fans in attendance, discuss his inaugural signing class at SFA and take questions from the audience. In addition, offensive coordinator Matt Storm and defensive coordinator Scott Power will take the stage to talk about the Lumberjack newcomers. SFA's entire football coaching staff will also be on hand.
Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served with a cash bar present.
Carthel and his staff hit the recruiting trail almost immediately upon arriving in Texas' oldest town and have spent the majority of the past few weeks on the road in search of future Lumberjacks. The 2019 class looks to be a historic one for SFA as the Lumberjacks have received plenty of commitments from FBS-level recruits. With a focus of recruiting from the inside out, coach Carthel and his staff zeroed in on bringing east Texas' top talent to Nacogdoches and Wednesday should represent their recent efforts.
