Senior averages 25 points in pair of SFA wins last week

FRISCO, Texas - For the fourth time in his collegiate career and the first time in 2019-2020, SFA men's basketball Senior Kevon Harris has earned the title of Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. The league made the announcement Monday in a press conference.
The 'Jacks' hottest player during the two-game stretch to start the season, Harris helped lead SFA to perfect 2-0 start to the season in Nacogdoches.
Wednesday night against LeTourneau Harris contributed 18 points on an efficient 6-12 shooting, while also adding eight rebounds. Harris led all SFA players in scoring and this led to SFA securing the win by a score of 89-70.
On Saturday night against North Carolina Central, Harris turned in one of his best games of his collegiate career leading SFA in both points scored (32) and rebounds (7) en route to a win. Harris collected his 32 points in a very efficient way shooting 12-19 from the field and 5-10 from behind the arc. Over the two-game stretch Harris averaged 25 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting a scorching 58.1-percent from the field.
For the week, SFA went 2-0 and as of writing this Harris ranks first on the team and first in the Southland in scoring at a high clip of 25 points per game. The Ellenwood, Ga., product's rebounding average of 7.5 per game also leads the team.
Harris and the rest of the 'Jacks return to action Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. inside William R. Johnson Coliseum when SFA hosts Niagara for the first time in program history. The tilt between the 'Jacks (2-0) and Purple Eagles (0-2) will be televised nation-wide on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
