
Ladyjacks Register Two Top-20 Finishes to Close Out Bearkat Invite

MAGNOLIA, Texas – Alexandra Bautista and Karina Benavides notched Top-20 finishes for the SFA women's golf team to close out play at the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational on Tuesday. SFA finished the competition tied for eighth in the 13-team field with a total of 67-over 931.
Bautista and Benavides led the SFA contingent in the 77-woman event with a 14-over 230. Both golfers moved up the individual leaderboard during the final round, with Bautista climbing six spots by carding a 75 and Benavides nine by virtue of a final round of 74.
Zayda Cedillo rounded out competition with a 19-over 235, shooting a final round of 78 to finish tied for 33rd. Kelly Yang carded a 79 in the final round to finish at 20-over 236 in a tie for 36thplace.
Kate Dishman moved up a pair of spots to finish tied for 58that the end of competition. The freshman finished at 29-over 245, saving her best round of the event (79) for the final day of competition.
Sloane Bennett (32-over 248) also competed for SFA at the event.
A total of six Southland Conference programs competed in the event. Golfers from Houston Baptist, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Incarnate Word and Lamar as well as the host Bearkats were present.
