'Jacks Announce Open Tryout Date, Seek Student Managers for 2018-19

Walk-on tryout to be held at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The SFA men's basketball team has announced a walk-on tryout date for individuals interested in joining the team for the 2018-19 season.
Walk-on tryouts will be held at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 6 inside William R. Johnson Coliseum. Prior to attending, all participants must visit the SFA men's basketball offices located on the ground floor of William R. Johnson Coliseum to register for the tryout and to sign a waiver.
Those who are interested in trying out must be full-time SFA students (12 credit hours or more per semester).
In addition to the walk-on tryouts, SFA men's basketball is also searching for student managers for the upcoming season. Student manager applicants much be enrolled full-time as an SFA student. Interested individuals must submit a cover letter and resume via email to Jay Turnipseed, SFA's video coordinator, at turnipsejr@sfasu.edu. The deadline to apply for the student manager positions is Sunday, September 16.
SFA has cemented itself as one of the nation's premier basketball programs over the last decade. In that span, the 'Jacks have posted the eighth-best winning percentage among all NCAA Division I programs, made five appearances in the NCAA Tournament and won a pair of games in the tournament.
