Rotich's Personal Best Time Leads 'Jacks at Aggie Opener

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Erick Rotich paced the SFA cross country teams with a team-best 24th place finish and a personal best time in the 6k race of 19:40.3, as both the men's and women's teams placed fifth at the one-day event. Both teams finished with a total team score of 127.
Rounding out the finishers on the men's side were Pedro Flores in 28th (19:48.6) and Grant Tiff in 29th (19:53.6), followed by Chris Shirk in 45th at 20:56.5 and freshman Caleb Stewart in 54th with a time of 22:25.9.
On the women's side, Carolyn Evans ran to a 25th place in the 4k race, with a time of 15:49.6. Elizabeth Guerra finished 35th at 16:21.2, just ahead of teammate LaSean Davis in 36th (16:23.9). Rounding out the Ladyjacks five runners were Samantha Roberts in 48th (17:23.1) and Crystal Ariceaga in 49th (17:30.1).
The 'Jacks are next in action at the Rice invitational on September 7.
