
SFA Multis Compete at ACU Wildcat Spring Break Multi

ABILENE, Texas – The multi-event athletes of Stephen F. Austin's track and field team got their first action of the 2018 outdoor season on Wednesday in Abilene, Texas. Three men's decathlon participants ended the first day of competition inside the top eight, while a pair of women's heptathletes sit inside the top four ahead of tomorrow's finale.
Caitlin Lennon set the bar high in the first day of competition, setting new personal bests in the shot put and 200 and sitting just 12 points out of first with a score of 2903. Teammate Sammi Brashears sits in fourth in the heptathlon with 2742. Likewise on the men's side, Tanner Parks bested his previous highs in the 100m and long jump, and is in fourth place after the opening round of competition with a score of 3361.
Bradley Beaty is in fifth on the men's side with a score of 3184, followed by Tyji Yulee in eighth with a score of 3038 and Cord Neal in 10th with a 2994.
The two-day event will resume and wrap up tomorrow.
