Ladyjacks finish tied for 28th out of 43 total teams after shooting a 38-over 326 in Tuesday’s final round
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – After securing its lowest 36-hole score of the season after round two Monday, a low score eluded the Stephen F. Austin women's golf team Tuesday during the final round of the 2018 Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic on Kiawah Island, South Carolina. The Ladyjacks shot a 38-over 326 in the third round of the nation's largest collegiate golf tournament to finish tied for 28th among 43 total teams and 42 different schools.
SFA's three-day total of 61-over 925 is the second-best 54-hole score the Ladyjacks have posted in 2017-18. Posting a season-low tying 10-over 298 in the second round Monday, the fifth-best single round score in program history, SFA took on the par-72, 5,964-yard Osprey Point golf course for the second consecutive day Tuesday. Sitting among the top 22 teams in the tournament and tied for 17th after two days of play, the Ladyjacks competed for the tournament championship Tuesday but turned in their highest single round score of the three-day, 54-hole event.

Recording another birdie in round three, Batista ended the tournament with 10 total birdies, the fourth-most of any golfer at the event. Likewise, redshirt junior Erica Lautensack (Arlington, Texas) shot a 11-over 83 in Tuesday's third round after tallying her second-lowest individual round of the season in round two at 1-under 71.
