NACOGDOCHES, Texas – SFA head soccer coach Wally Crittenden announced the hiring of assistant coach Ashley Mosley on Monday. The Texas native joins the Ladyjacks as their Recruiting Coordinator after spending the past ten years as the Director of Coaching at a pair of Texas-based soccer clubs, and will make her second appearance in the collegiate coaching ranks, and first at the NCAA Division I level. Mosley previously spent five seasons as an assistant coach at St. Edwards University while simultaneously serving as the Director of Coaching for the Austin Texans Soccer Club (2008-15) and later the Lonestar Soccer Club (2015-present).
"I am thrilled to add Ashley to our staff," said SFA head soccer coach Wally Crittenden. "I have gotten to know Ashley over the last couple years and have observed her in-game management and coaching abilities first hand while recruiting many of her players. With her commitment to her licensing, her playing background, and the great coaches and mentors she has had alongside her at Lonestar Soccer Club and the Austin Texans, I know she will make a tremendous impact on our program and players. With her coaching connections across the state and region, along with competing against the rising player pool with her Lonestar club teams, I have no doubt that we will continue to recruit at a very high level. The soccer qualifications aside, Ashley's personality and charisma are magnetic and will certainly inspire the best from both our players and staff. Great moments await our players, staff, and all the fans of Ladyjack Soccer."
After finishing her collegiate career at West Texas A&M, where she played from 2001-05, the Amarillo, Texas-born Mosley began working with the Austin Texas Soccer Club as the College Director/Director of Coaching. In that position, she oversaw the development and day-to-day operations for the U11-U18 girls teams and assisted in placing 78 percent of the 2014 senior class.
While with the Austin Texans and during her first years at Lonestar, Mosley also served as an assistant coach at St. Edwards University, a successful Division II program based out of Austin. She helped guide the Hilltoppers to a pair of Heartland Conference titles, four NCAA tournament appearances, two NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearances and an Elite Eight berth. Additionally, under her tutelage, six Hilltoppers were placed on the NCAA All-American Team.
In August of 2015, Mosley began a position with the Lonestar Soccer Club based out of Austin as a Director of Coaching. There, she oversaw the development, organization and placement of 21 teams that participated in national, regional and state level competitions. Numerous teams won state titles, were named regional championship finalists or qualified for USYS National League competition during her time there.
Mosley has coached in the Olympic Development Program for Region III, at the high school level at Westlake High School, and compliments her on-field credentials with her teaching certificate having taught High School Biology. Her coaching credentials include a US Soccer Federation "A" License.
