SCOUTING TYLER JUNIOR COLLEGE | ROSTER | SCHEDULE
• Though the result will not count for the Ladyjacks, they'll hit the court against one of the best junior college tennis programs in the nation. TJC dropped a narrow 4-3 decision to SMU in Dallas, Texas, Friday.
• Currently, TJC is ranked number one in the junior college ranks by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
SCOUTING UTSA | ROSTER | SCHEDULE | STATISTICS
• The Roadrunners' trip to Nacogdoches signals the start of their 2018 season, a campaign in which they are without the services of Miriam Rosell Canudas. Last year, Rosell Canudas posted an incredible 20-1 record in the number-one singles flight for UTSA who now has a roster with a total of six freshmen and sophomores on it.
• Sophomores Denisa Ibrahimovic and Laura Cabrera each went 9-10 in singles play a season ago and are the top returners for the Roadrunners. Fellow sophomore Kylee Kato also received a good deal of playing time last season, posting a 9-9 record in singles action. Junior Charleen Tiwari also went 7-10 in 2017 and played in four of the six singles flights.
• Only one of the Roadrunners' primary doubles teams from last season remains intact for 2018. The duo of Ibrahimovic and Sonia Madroñal posted an 8-8 showing in tandem action while competing exclusively in the number-two flight.
COMING UP NEXT
Saturday afternoon, the Ladyjacks head to College Station, Texas, for a 4:00 p.m. showdown with SEC adversary Texas A&M. SFA will concluded its two-match slate the following day (Sunday, Feb. 4) by battling Liberty at 10:00 a.m. in another non-conference tilt.
