Annual Meet the ‘Jacks Set for August 24

Fredonia Rotary Club to host annual Meet the ‘Jacks Thursday, Aug. 24, giving fans and supporters the opportunity to meet the 2017 SFA football team
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Once again, fans and supporters of Stephen F. Austin athletics will get the chance to meet the Lumberjack football team at the 37th annual Meet the 'Jacks held Thursday, Aug. 24. The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of SFA's Baker Pattillo Student Center and is sponsored by the Fredonia Rotary Club.
Admittance into Meet the 'Jacks is $15, which includes admission to the event, dinner and a chance to meet your favorite football players. Tickets to the event can be purchased at the door the night of the event.
The 2017 Lumberjack football team will be introduced by their positions, followed by a first look at this season's intro video. Lumberjack football players will then be available for photos and will be signing autographs on SFA's schedule posters.
Dallas is the site of SFA's 2017 season opener as the 'Jacks take on the Mustangs of SMU for their annual FBS game Saturday, Sept. 2. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. from Gerald J. Ford Stadium. One week later, SFA makes its 2017 Homer Bryce Stadium debut with a 6 p.m. non-conference tilt against Southern Utah on Saturday, Sept. 9. The 'Jacks' schedule features a total of five home games, including hosting Southland Conference opponents Incarnate Word (Sept. 16), McNeese State (Sept. 30), Houston Baptist (Oct. 21) and Nicholls (Nov. 11).
In addition to its five-game home schedule, SFA will take part in six contests away from Nacogdoches including road matchups at Abilene Christian (Sept. 23), Central Arkansas (Oct. 14), Lamar (Oct. 28), and Northwestern State (Nov. 18) as the 'Jacks face the Demons in the 52nd edition of the Battle for Chief Caddo. SFA will also participate in one neutral-site game with the 92nd Battle of the Piney Woods against Same Houston State on Saturday, Oct. 7, at NRG Stadium in Houston.
Season tickets for 2017 SFA Football are on sale through the SFA athletics ticket office and can be purchased here. Available season ticket packages include reserved chair back and reserved bench seats. SFA football season tickets start at only $63 for the general public and $38 for faculty and staff.
