Conque, Alexander and Pace Head to Houston Thursday for 2017 SLC Football Media Day

FRISCO, Texas - Only 47 days separate the Stephen F. Austin football team from the commencement of its 2017 campaign and on Thursday media personnel from around the state and region will receive the opportunity to meet with a trio of SFA reps as part of the 2017 Southland Conference Football Media Day proceedings at the Hilton Americas in Houston, Texas.
Beginning at 9:00 a.m., the Southland Conference is set to air the media day interviews for all 10 of the league's football programs live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app with Houston's KPRC-TV sports director Randy McIlvoy as the host. McIlvoy will be joined by Tatum Everett, the sports director for Shreveport's KTBS-TV.
Heading down to Houston to represent SFA will be head coach Clint Conque, who will begin his fourth season in charge of the 'Jacks' in 2017. He will be joined by preseason All-Southland Conference selections Tamrick Pace (sophomore, wide receiver) and Lamont Alexander (junior, defensive lineman) at the annual event.
Those three will step up to the podium at 1:45 p.m. to field questions from various league media members before heading to the league's social media suite from 2:15-2:40 p.m. While in the suite, the players will take part in social media segments that can be seen on the league's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
In conjunction with Southland Conference commissioner Tom Burnett's opening remarks at 9:00 a.m., the league will unveil its 2017 preseason polls. Throughout the day, fans are invited to keep an eye on the 'Jacks' social media platforms (Twitter | @SFA_Football, Instagram | @SFA_Athletics, Facebook | SFA Football) for updates throughout the day in Houston.
