The assembly of SFA men and women will attempted to place in the top 12 in their respective events this weekend in order to take a stab for nationals in early June. The top 12 individuals and relays from the East and West Preliminaries will automatically earn berths into the NCAA Championship field at the University of Oregon's historic Hayward Field.
Five Lumberjacks will start their regional run on Thursday evening. Jackson and Gleason will start the SFA action at 4:30 pm with the first round of men's and women's 400m hurdles. Pittman will compete in the long jump competition starting also at 4:30 pm. The first round of the men's 400m sprint, featuring Gibson and Hawkins, will get underway at 7:45 pm.
The men's pole vault competition kick starts Friday's events. Ruiz, Gilfillan, and Murphree will vault starting at 12:00 pm. The first round of the women's 200m will gun at 7:30 pm for both Davis and Nave. Friday will also showcase the quarterfinals from the 400m races as well as the 400m hurdles.
