Ladyjacks at the SLC Championship
This week’s trip to Montgomery marks SFA’s eighth Southland Conference Championship appearance since adding the program in 2009-10. The Ladyjacks have finished among the top-five in each of the last three years, finishing fifth in 2014, fourth in 2015 before tying for fourth in 2016. During that span, SFA has registered a top-10 individual finisher each year, comprised by Piper Kyle (T-3rd in 2014), Jessie White (1st in 2015) and Sydney Reed (T-4th in 2016).
Last Time Out
SFA completed its final tune-up for the conference meet last week in Maryland, placing 11th in the Georgetown Hoya Invitational. Competing in the Eastern time zone for just the sixth time in program history, SFA shot an 82-over 946 at Four Streams Golf Club, competing against a 15-team field comprised of entirely new opponents for SFA. Redshirt freshman Erica Lautensack tied for eighth overall with a 9-over 225, sparked by her 1-over 145 through two rounds, including an even-par 72 in round one.
