NIVC Bracket Announced, Ladyjacks to Face Ole Miss in Opening Round

SFA returns to postseason play for the first time since 2006
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin volleyball team will play in the postseason for the first time since 2006 it was announced late Sunday when the Ladyjacks were chosen as one of the teams in the 32-team field for the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC).
SFA's first-round match sends the team to Oxford, Miss., to face off against Ole Miss Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. inside the Gillom Athletic Performance Center. The Rebels were chosen to host a total of three first and second-round matches of the NIVC with SIU-Edwardsville out of the Ohio Valley Conference and Arkansas State out of the Sun Belt Conference set to duke it out in the other first round match at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
The winners of the two first-round matches will meet in the second round match which is set to take place Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m.
The NIVC, which was resurrected this season following a 22-year absence, will be an annual tournament involving 32 of the nation's top women's NCAA Division I volleyball teams. All matches, including the semifinals and championship, are hosted by participating schools. Every round is single elimination. The NIVC features 16 first-round games, followed by eight second-round games, four third-round games, two semifinal games and the championship.
Tickets to Wednesday evening's match in Oxford, Miss., are $5 and will be available for purchase at the door of the Gillom Center.
