CHOUDRANT, La. - Freshman Zach Sudinsky capped an impressive collegiate debut Tuesday, shooting a 1-under 71 over the final round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate and finishing tied for 11th with a 1-over 217. Sudinsky helped pace the `Jacks to a 10th-place showing in the season-opening event with a 25-over 889.

Coming off an even par 72 in round two Monday, Sudinsky registered his career-low 71 over the final 18 holes, shooting an even-par 36 on the front nine and a 1-under on the back, totaling 13 pars on the day. He was 1-over for the event on par-threes but made his mark on the par-fives, finishing at 5-under for the event.
Sudinsky was joined in the top-20 by sophomore Angelo Leyvani who posted an even-par 72 in round three and tied for 19th overall with a 3-over 219. It is the fourth top-20 finish of Leyvani's SFA career and his second-straight after tying for seventh overall at last year's Southland Conference Championships.
Senior Baxter Ward matched Leyvani with an even-par 72 on the final day of competition, tying for 47th overall with an 11-over 227. Junior Blake Stock finished with a 13-over 229 with Jacob Hendrix shooting a 20-over 236 to round out the Lumberjack scorecard.
Competing as an individual, senior Major Monzingo finished tied for second among the medalist standings, tying for 29th overall with a 5-over 221. Monzingo posted a 3-over 75 over the final 18 holes.
Entering Tuesday's final round, SFA held serve in the number 10 spot, shooting a season-best 3-over 291 on the day and ending the 54-hole event with a 25-over 889. The Lumberjacks were two shots back of ninth-place Missouri State (23-over 887) and four strokes behind both host Louisiana Tech and Western Kentucky (21-over 885) while finishing nine shots better than 11th-place Incarnate Word (34-over 898).
Louisiana-Monroe captured the team title with a 7-under 857, besting second place Central Arkansas (3-under 861) by four shots to capture the crown. Fellow Southland Conference foe Lamar finished third with an even-par 864, followed by Southern Mississippi (8-over 872) and SLC opponents Houston Baptist (10-over 874) and Southeastern Louisiana (17-over 881).
SFA will have a couple of weeks off before returning to action in October, traveling to Overland Park, Kansas, for the 2016 Bill Ross Intercollegiate, hosted by UM-Kansas City. The 54-hole event gets underway with the opening two rounds on Monday, October 3rd, followed by the final round on Tuesday, October 4th.
