Ehlert Receives Southland Conference Goalkeeper Player of the Week

FRISCO, Texas – Stephen F. Austin redshirt junior Lillie Ehlert was named the Southland Conference Goalkeeper Player of the Week this afternoon by the league office. This is the first accolade for the Ladyjacks so far in the 2016 season.
Ehlert helped the Ladyjacks to their first win on the road last Friday against Texas State. The game went into double overtime in San Marcos, but the Ladyjacks pulled away for the win, 3-2. Ehlert was in the net all night and had nine saves on the night. She took on 23 shots from the Bobcats, 12 of those on goal, and only allowing two goals against her.
Back at home on Sunday, Ehlert found herself receiving her first individual shutout of the season against a very physical University of Texas- El Paso team. She racked up another six saves against 10 shots with six on goal.
Ehlert was a part of the Ladyjacks winning their fourth and fifth straight Southland Conference regular season championship in 2014 and 2015. She boasts 116 saves on her career and five shutouts. In the Southland Conference standings, Ehlert is tied for second on her save percentage (.828) and seventh for saves per game (4.80).
Ehlert was joined by Southeastern Louisiana’s Sofia Olsson (offensive) and Central Arkansas’s Stacia Carroll (defensive) as the conference’s Players of the Week for week four. SFA’s junior Hanna Barker earned an honorable mention recognition for her two goals and assist over the weekend.
The Ladyjacks are getting ready to open Southland Conference play this weekend on the road in Natchitoches, La. Game is set for Friday, Sept. 16th, and opening kick is at 7:00 p.m. CT. The game will be live streamed on nsudemons.com
