NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The rain has finally eased off enough for Stephen F. Austin to get wheels up on their trip to Oregon. The Ladyjacks are itching for another match after a tie in their exhibition game against Rice and a rain-out against Jackson State.
SFA now opens its regular season on the road against the Oregon State Beavers on Friday night. Opening kick is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. CT in Corvallis, Ore. The trip will then conclude with a Sunday evening match against the Oregon Ducks. Game is set to start at 7:00 p.m. CT in Eugene, Ore.

SFA’s defense will be looking to continue its dominance on the field after allowing no shots on goal during the exhibition game against Rice, while freshman Carli Arthurs hope to break into the scoring column after leading the team in shots against the Owls. The Ladyjacks hold on to their preseason pick as the Southland Conference favorite and SFA Coach Wally Crittenden looks towards another conference winning season after a 9-8-2 finish last year.
This will be the second meeting between Oregon State and Stephen F. Austin. The Ladyjacks started the series with a 2-0 win at home back in 2014. The Beavers are coming off a 1-1 tie against Cal State Northridge last Sunday. Junior Nikki Faris scored their lone goal against a tough Matadors defense.
The Oregon Ducks are coming off of a 2-1 win over Gonzaga with goals from freshman Jayne Lydiatt and sophomore Kyra Fawcett. The Ducks will be a fierce competitor as they seek to keep their undefeated status when they play the Ladyjacks on Sunday.
The Ladyjacks will be back for their first match at home against UTSA on September 4th at 6:00 p.m. CT.
