Ladyjack Basketball Academic Shootout Set for Saturday Against HBU

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The 2016 Ladyjack Academic Shootout is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 27 when the Stephen F. Austin women’s basketball team takes on Houston Baptist at 3:30 p.m. inside William R. Johnson Coliseum for the team’s final home game of the year.
The annual event raises funds through the Purple Pride Fast Break Booster Club and the SFA Alumni Foundation to create summer school scholarships and fifth-year student scholarships for the Ladyjacks.
Fans can sign up to participate in the Ladyjack Academic Shootout at the front entrance of William R. Johnson Coliseum on the day of the game. Flat donations to the cause are welcome or fans can pledge to pay on a “per point scored” basis during the Southland Conference contest. Last year’s event raised more than $10,000.
Along with the Purple Pride Fast Break Booster Club and the SFA Alumni Foundation, the Nacogdoches Rotary Club is a proud supporter of the shootout and SFA basketball.
Following the women’s game on Saturday afternoon, the men will host HBU in their final home tilt of the season. The Senior Day doubleheader also serves as Purple Out Night, where fans are encouraged to come to the games decked out in their favorite purple SFA attire.
