
Augustin Joins Volleyball Staff

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Adler Augustin has been hired as assistant coach with the Stephen F. Austin volleyball team, as announced by head coach Debbie Humphreys on Wednesday.
“We are very excited to have Adler joining our staff,” said Humphreys. “He has been very successful working with Austin Juniors Volleyball Club, and should transition seamlessly to SFA. His ties to the Texas clubs will help him quickly adjust to his recruiting responsibilities.”
Augustin joins the Ladyjacks after spending the last five years coaching with Austin Juniors Volleyball Club. The 2015 Austin Junior Volleyball Coach of the Year, Augustin led his under-17 Cedar Park team to a national championship in 2013 and third-place result in 2014. In addition, his teams claimed multiple tournament championships.
From 2008-13, Augustin was the head coach of the University of Texas women’s volleyball club team; and, the Longhorns finished in the top-three nationally four times under his command, with national championships in 2011-12 and 2012-13. His teams included a pair of national MVPs and eight first team all-tournament players.
Augustin also spent time as the head coach of the men’s club team at the University of Texas from 2007-09. His 2008-09 team finished fifth in the nation.
Skilled in working with athletes at multiple levels, Augustin also served as the varsity head coach at Austin Waldorf School for the 2012-13 academic year and junior varsity head coach from 2011-12. The 2013 varsity team won the regional championship.
Augustin earned his bachelors degree from the University of Texas in 2007, studying kinesiology and exercise science.
