SFA Ready For 2015 SLC Media Day

LAKE CHARLES, La. – Stephen F. Austin is preparing for the 2015 Southland Conference Football Media Day, being held at the L’auberge Resort in Lake Charles, Louisiana on Wednesday, July 29.
Head coach Clint Conque will represent the Lumberjacks in Lake Charles, along with junior quarterback Zach Conque and senior defensive tackle Lance Skyler, both of which were recently named preseason All-SLC second team selections. The trio will meet with media representatives from across the Southland Conference footprint while also filming promotional materials to be used in SLC broadcasts this fall.
The Southland Digital Network will offer live coverage of press conferences throughout Wednesday's event, beginning with Commissioner Burnett's opening comments at 8 a.m. and leading up to Coach Conque and the Lumberjack players taking to the podium at 3 p.m. Streaming video can be found at Southland.org/watch and the Southland Conference app for smartphone and tablets.
In addition to the live coverage of the Media Day press conferences, there will be a two-hour Southland Conference Football Preview show which will be broadcast on ESPN3, getting underway at 7 p.m. Coaches and student-athletes from all 11 Southland football-playing institutions will participate. ESPN3's preview show will be hosted by Lincoln Rose, one of the play-by-play announcers for Southland football broadcasts on ESPN3, and Kelsey Wingert, a sports anchor for KALB-TV Alexandria and sideline reporter for Cox Sports TV.
As part of the Media Day festivities, the 2015 Southland Conference preseason polls will be revealed Wednesday morning as part of Commissioner Burnett’s remarks at 8 a.m. There will also be a Media Day luncheon when SFA beat writer Kevin Gore of the Daily Sentinel will be honored as the SLC’s Louis Bonnette Sports Media Award winner for 2015.
