EUGENE, Ore. -- One of the best athletes to ever compete at Stephen F. Austin, Joshua Taylor ended his decorated collegiate career on Thursday evening at the 2015 NCAA Track and Field Championships. The senior took 19th place in the 400-meter hurdle semifinals with a time of 51.73 seconds.
Taylor finished seventh in his heat, missing the chance to improve on his seventh place showing from 2014.
A native of Pearland, Taylor owns three program records, including the quarter hurdle standard of 50.03 seconds set at the Southland Conference Championships this past season. He was also part of the record-breaking 4x400 squads during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Taylor competed at the NCAA Championships four times during his SFA career.
With his finish, Taylor will be named a USTFCCCA Honorable Mention All-American. It is his third career honorable mention recognition to go along with First and Second Team All-America honors from 2014.
Next up, Taylor will compete at the USA Outdoor Championships back in Eugene in two weeks.
