TYLER, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin women's soccer team rounded out its spring season with a win, shutting out Tyler Junior College 2-0 at Pat Hartley Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon.
Two Ladyjacks notched their first career goals in the second half. Freshman Chloe Fowler scored the first, while Carolina Orsi put the game away with the second goal of the day to seal the win for the Ladyjacks.
"This was a great game to measure ourselves against a physical and motivated team," said head coach Wally Crittenden. "TJC was organized and definitely challenged us in keeping our composure. We had to manage some adversity in the first 15 minutes and once we collected ourselves we were able to do some really good things. I am proud of our team for showing that maturity and for getting goals from two different players."
The Ladyjacks complete their spring season with a 3-1 record.
"From here, we will wind down our spring program and get ready to celebrate both our past, and future, as our alumni and future Ladyjacks all come into town next Saturday," said Crittenden. "Should be great fun connecting all of the classes and the event is free to the public."
Saturday's game will start at 11 a.m. at SFA Soccer Field.
