NACOGDOCHES, Texas – It was a special afternoon for the Stephen F. Austin women’s soccer team as Ladyjack defender Megan Dunnigan and goalkeeper Morgan Glick signed professional contracts with IA Akranes FC on Monday.
“What an exciting time for these two players and for our program,” head coach Wally Crittenden said. “Both Morgan and Megan have had tremendous careers here and I know they will makegreat professionals. Today is a testament to their hard work and willingness to grow and mature as leaders and as students of the game.
“As a program, this continues to validate our processes and anytime we can help our players reach a dream to play post-collegiately, it brings a great deal of satisfaction to our coaches and support staff. These two players are just the beginning though, as I know we will be making a couple more announcements soon related to this senior class and no doubt this will inspire our returning players to continue to push themselves and refine their skill sets for the chance to have this kind of opportunity once their stellar careers as Ladyjacks is complete. With the evolution our program continues to enjoy, there should be a new slogan added to our University’s marketing campaign that reads –Ladyjacks Make Great Professional Soccer Players.”
