Ladyjacks Finish Eighth at ULM Fred Marx Invite

2014 ULM Fred Marx Invitational Results 
MONROE, La. – Stephen F. Austin held its ground over the final round of the 2014 ULM Fred Marx Invitational, finishing in eighth-place among the 13-team field. The Lumberjacks fired a 27-over 315 over the final 18 holes, finishing with an 85-over 949.
Freshman Erica Lautensack notched the first top-20 finish of her career, posting a career-best 4-over 76 over the final round. Lautensack closed out the event with a 16-over 232, tying for 16th in the individual standings.
Sophomore Ann Holcomb was second on the SFA scorecard with a 20-over 236 after carding an 8-over 80 in round three. She tied for 27th overall and finished seven shots better than fellow sophomore Jessica White (27-over 243), who shot a 7-over 79 Tuesday.
Junior Mackenzie Steiner and sophomore Courtney Ford rounded out the Ladyjack scorecard, posting a 29-over 245 and a 32-over 248, respectively. Steiner shot a 10-over 82 over the final 36 holes with Ford carding an 8-over 80.
The Ladyjacks held off Southland Conference rival McNeese State, who placed ninth with an 86-over 950. SFA finished 10 strokes back of seventh-place McLennan C.C. (75-over 939) and was 15 strokes back of sixth-place Central Arkansas (70-over 934).
Host Louisiana-Monroe captured its home tournament with a 44-over 908, besting Sam Houston State (48-over 912) by four strokes. Arkansas Little-Rock (50-over 914) placed third with Houston Baptist (66-over 930) and Oklahoma City (69-over 933) rounding out the top-five.
SFA returns to the course next weekend, traveling north to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the 2014 Oral Roberts Shootout. The 54-hole event gets underway with two rounds on Monday, September 29th, before wrapping up Tuesday, September 30th.
