
Ladyjacks Sweep New Orleans

RUSTON, Louisiana – The Stephen F. Austin women’s volleyball team got 12 kills from senior Jill Ivy in a 3-0 (25-9, 25-12, 25-13) sweep of New Orleans inside Thomas Assembly Center on Friday afternoon as part of the Louisiana Tech Fairfield Inn Volleyball Invitational.
SFA (4-5) swung a season-high .368 attack percentage to extend its current set-win streak to six straight.
Ivy led all with 12 kills on 21 swings (.524), as junior Jacque Allen and freshman Kelsi Bartlett followed with nine and eight, respectfully, against the Privateers (4-4).
Senior Paige Holland distributed the attack, picking up 31 assists, while also registering four kills, four digs and two service aces.
Junior libero OJ Olson led the back line with 18 digs, while junior Madison Martin dug up 13.
The Ladyjacks never trailed in taking the opening set 25-9. SFA got four kills apiece from Ivy and Bartlett, while limiting UNO to a -.067 attack percentage.
The Ladyjacks continued to impose their dominance in the second set, swinging a match-high .500 clip. SFA had five different players record two kills or more, while holding the Privateers to a meager .088 attack efficiency.
The Ladyjacks then followed with a 25-13 win in set three to close out the match and pick up their second sweep of the season.
SFA will play two more matches on Saturday, as part of the tournament. The Ladyjacks will play Texas-Pan American at 12 p.m., before closing out with tournament host Louisiana Tech.
