Ladyjacks To Host Rice In Exhibition On Friday

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The three-time defending Southland Conference champion Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team will play its final tune-up before the regular season, hosting Rice in a 7 p.m. exhibition on Friday at the SFA Soccer Field.
"It is great to finally play against someone else," head coach Wally Crittenden said. "Our players have been working really hard all camp so far and we have made some great progress to this point. We have an idea of where we are and where we would like to be by the end of camp. Playing a quality side like Rice will allow us to confirm those intuitions and make changes if needed.
"Rice has a respected coaching staff and there is no doubt they will come to play. I would love for our passionate fans to come out tomorrow night and show Rice what the soccer culture is like here in Nacogdoches and watch a great game between two great teams preparing for special seasons."
The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will serve as Girl Scouts Night, and local troop members and their families are encouraged to come out and meet the team after the match.
Also, starting with the exhibition, SFA will launch several promotions that will last through out the soccer season. The promotions are as follows:
• Frequent Fan Card - Fans can pick up a Frequent Fan Card whenever attending a soccer game. For each match attended, fans will receive one stamp and will be able to redeem those stamps for prizes through SFA's partnership with Clear Springs, Auntie Pasta's, Wing Stop, and Newk's Eatery.
- 2 stamps = fress small onion rings from Clear Springs
- 4 stamps = free 20 oz. free style coke drink from Wingstop
- 5 stamps = free slice of cake from Newk's Eatery
- 7 stamps = free six-wing combo from Wingstop
- 8 stamps = free small pizza from Auntie Pasta's
- 9 stamps = free entrée from Newk's Eatery
• Golden Goal - Before the game, fans can guess which Ladyjack they think will score the first goal. As soon as the first goal is scored, the marketing staff will randomly select a fan that picked the correct player and give them an exclusive SFA Soccer shirt.
