NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin Head Coach Brandon Schneider announced the addition of one transfer to his Ladyjacks basketball team on Wednesday.
Stevi Parker has signed a financial aid agreement and is transferring to SFA from Tulsa where she averaged 5.3 points per game and 5.0 rebounds for the Golden Hurricane. Parker led the team in blocks and scored in double digits three times during her freshman campaign. This season Tulsa went finished the 2013-14 season 12-16 and went 6-10 in the American Athletic Conference with Parker starting in 13 contests.
Parker is a 6-foot forward from Bixby, Oklahoma. Her brother Jacob plays for the Lumberjacks and was the Southland Conference Player of the Year this season.
“Stevi is a long, athletic and very versatile wing player who is capable of thriving in our style of play on both ends of the floor. We love her approach and relentless mentality when it comes to defense and rebounding, and her skill set fits perfectly in our offensive scheme,” Schneider said. “With three years of eligibility remaining, we expect Stevi to play a major role in the future of our program.”
Parker will have to sit out the 2014-15 season due to NCAA transfer rules but will be able to practice with the team and begin training this summer. She will have three years of eligibility remaining after using a redshirt year to sit out the 2014-15 campaign.
